VGSO Seasonal Clerkship program

You will work closely with a mentor and have the opportunity to attend court and client meetings, develop your practical research skills, assist in drafting complex advice, and grow your professional legal skills through in-house workshops. 

A current graduate will be assigned as your buddy to assist in navigating your 3 week Clerkship at the VGSO.

During your Clerkship you will be placed in one of our six legal branches: 

• Commercial, Property & Technology 
• Inquiries, Prosecutions & Administrative Law
• Litigation & Dispute Resolution
• Police Advisory
• Public Law & Planning
• Workplace Relations & Occupational Safety

Being development focused, you will receive regular feedback to assist you in the expansion of your skills, confidence and capabilities.

Eligibility criteria: 

• Due to complete your Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor in 2025, with sound academic results
• Be an Australian citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, a New Zealand citizen or a non-citizen with a valid visa permitting you to work in Australia
• Able to commit to 3 weeks full-time employment in either February or July 2025

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an individual interview to help us understand your interests, aspirations, experiences and strengths for the Clerkship program.
