Rebecca Radford appointed Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor, Commercial, Property and Technology

Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca Radford as Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor for the Commercial, Property and Technology branch.

Rebecca joined VGSO in November 2015 as a Managing Principal Solicitor. She was appointed Lead Counsel in 2022, reflecting her strong technical expertise, leadership capability and reputation as a trusted adviser to the Victorian Public Service.

Rebecca has extensive experience supporting the public sector on a range of complex and high value commercial work including procurements, funding, major projects, public sector governance and entity establishments.

She is also recognised for her commitment to capability building, both within VGSO and across the broader public sector. Rebecca actively supports ongoing professional development, promotes internal learning opportunities and regularly delivers presentations at client events and forums.

Victorian Government Solicitor Matthew Hocking shared, "Since February 2026, Rebecca has been acting in the role of Victorian Government Solicitor and contributing as a member of the Executive Leadership team. During this time, she has provided strong leadership to the Commercial, Property and Technology branch.

Her appointment marks a significant milestone in a legal career spanning more than 20 years and reflects the high regard in which she is held across VGSO and the Victorian Public Service."
