Michele's current practice encompasses merits and judicial review, freedom of information, privacy and regulatory practice, including occupational licensing and registration schemes. Michele brings a deep understanding of how government works to VGSO. Her well- developed skills in regulatory practice, statutory interpretation, government decision-making, FOI including reviews at VCAT, are of great value to her role as an administrative lawyer. Michele also has experience in conducting Supreme Court litigation.

Prior to returning to VGSO, Michele worked as the Registrar of the Business Licensing Authority (BLA) and General Counsel of the Regulatory Transaction Centre, providing advice in relation to occupational licensing, registration schemes, complex matters of statutory interpretation, decision-making, and managing reviews at VCAT and appeals to the Supreme Court.

Michele worked as a senior solicitor at VGSO before her regulatory role with the BLA.

Michele also spent two and a half years working as legal associate to Chief Justice Marilyn Warren of the Supreme Court. In this role, she assisted her Honour in Court, with research, analysis and speech writing.
