Georgia is a seasoned practitioner with experience in workplace relations roles across state and federal government. She has over 8 years' experience advising on complex industrial relations matters including enterprise agreement interpretation disputes, bargaining matters and industrial action. Georgia also acts for clients in a range of employment matters in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court and Federal Circuit and Family Court.

Prior to joining the VGSO, Georgia worked as an in-house legal advisor at Industrial Relations Victoria. She has an in depth understanding of government expectations in relation to enterprise bargaining and is highly experienced at guiding public sector clients through government approval processes. Georgia also has specialist knowledge of the Fair Work jurisdiction having previously worked as an associate to a senior member of the Fair Work Commission where she dealt with a high volume of enterprise agreement approvals.

More recently, Georgia's experience includes:

  • acting for government throughout the enterprise bargaining lifecycle on major and minor public sector agreements, including providing strategic advice to government on bargaining strategy, drafting, submission for government approval, intractable bargaining, better off overall test assessments and the Fair Work Commission approval process
  • providing written and oral advice to government on industrial relations matters affecting large workforces including proper construction of enterprise agreements, protected industrial action ballot orders, applications for orders to stop protected industrial action and statutory transfers of employment
  • representing clients in litigation of a wide range of employment and industrial matters, including contravention of enterprise agreement terms, unfair dismissal proceedings, general protections applications, stop-bullying applications and discrimination matters
  • delivering practical workplace relations and enterprise bargaining training to public sector employers, including training on bargaining strategy, good faith bargaining obligations, industrial action, bargaining within the Public Sector Industrial Relations Policies and approval requirements for enterprise agreements.
