Rita practices in litigation and dispute resolution. Her work includes police tort claims, personal injury claims and applications for judicial review. She also practices in quasi-criminal matters, including applications and reviews under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997. Rita's clients include Victoria Police, Corrections Victoria, the Attorney-General, and the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Rita joined the VGSO as a law graduate in 2020. During her graduate year, she gained experience in a range of public and private law matters across multiple branches. She worked on various Royal Commissions, commercial transactions, and matters in the County Court of Victoria, Supreme Court of Victoria, and High Court of Australia. Rita has also completed a secondment with the Office of General Counsel within the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
