Michael advises Victorian government and public sector organisations on a broad range of employment law issues. Michael has extensive experience advising in employment law and has acted for numerous Commonwealth funded organisations as well as Victorian public sector bodies. He also has experience in technology law and in particular, its intersection and application in an employment context. He commenced practice with a major national law firm working in the industrial relations area, before moving to a technology law firm and then setting up a commercial/technology practice in partnership with other lawyers, prior to joining the Victorian Government Solicitor's Office.

Michael has advised on a broad range of employment matters, including unfair and unlawful dismissal, breaches of codes of conduct, employee related intellectual property rights and moral rights, performance management and improvement, protection of confidential information in employment, enterprise agreements, awards and employment contracts, bullying and harassment.

He advises on employment issues (including employee intellectual property rights, privacy issues and discrimination) associated with information technology and the introduction of artificial intelligence in the workplace.

He is also a senior fellow of the University of Melbourne Law School, where he lectures in Information Technology law and Artificial Intelligence law at Masters level, with particular emphasis on employment.
