Matt works in the commercial,  property and technology branch on a broad range of matters.

Matt joined the VGSO in 2021 after more than 20 years in private practice. Matt has been accredited as a specialist in commercial law (including contract law) by the Law Institute of Victoria since 2014.

Matt's private practice included experience in a diverse range of industries including ICT, telecommunications, property, logistics, biotech, retail energy, university and research sector, health, education and general commercial businesses. Matt has extensive experience in commercial, industrial and retail leasing Australia wide.

Matt has regularly acted for clients in highly regulated sectors and advised in relation to statutory compliance and liability issues. In addition to his commercial law experience Matt has a strong background in commercial litigation, which allows him to give practical and focussed advice in relation to establishing and managing compensation claims processes. 

Matt's experience includes advising in relation to a major contaminated site remediation project including managing arrangements with the relevant statutory authority (the EPA) and advising in relation to liability issues. Matt is familiar with the regulation of waste and landfill in Victoria.

Matt is extremely well placed to assist MWRGG with all aspects of the legal services required.
