Laura is an experienced civil litigator, with her practice focusing on personal injury litigation (negligence and breach of statutory duty) for a variety of government clients. Laura has an in-depth understanding of the lifecycle of litigation across a range of jurisdictions, and provides end-to-end litigation management for complex and strategically significant files. Laura has a special interest in using technology (particularly document management software) to create efficiencies in the litigation process. Laura joined the VGSO in 2018. Prior to this, Laura was a lawyer at a leading national law firm in their commercial litigation team. She has also spent time seconded to WorkSafe Victoria and Justice Connect.

Laura has provided advice and representation to government clients, statutory authorities, regulators, commercial organisations and private clients. Her experience includes:

  • personal injury
  • crimes (mental impairment)
  • freedom of information, privacy law and subpoenas
  • judicial review
  • consumer protection
  • royal commissions
  • contractual disputes and general commercial litigation
