Kate's practice comprises personal injury litigation, involving claims of negligence, breach of statutory duty and vicarious liability. Kate focuses on personal injury claims by former wards of the State in both non-litigated and litigated claims. She also acts for the Attorney-General in Crimes (Mental Impairment) matters. Kate has civil litigation experience in the Supreme and County Courts and alternative dispute resolution processes.

Kate's clients include various government departments and statutory agencies.

Kate joined the VGSO Litigation & Dispute Resolution team in December 2019. Prior to joining the VGSO, Kate worked as a solicitor in a private family law practice, advising privately funded and legally aided clients on matters including financial settlements, parenting arrangements, and family violence issues. Kate has appeared on behalf of clients in the Federal Circuit Court, Family Court, and various Magistrates' Courts, and has instructed counsel in conciliation conferences and mediations. She acted for clients in sensitive matters including those involving family violence and intervention orders.
