  • Privacy Update

    When: 31/05/2012, Light lunch: 12.30 pm; seminar: 1.00-2.00 pm

    Catch up with the latest privacy issues and developments in privacy law at our May seminar. Earlier this month, the Commonwealth Attorney–General announced that legislation will shortly be introduced into parliament to implement the first stage of the Australian Government’s response to the Australian Law Reform Commission’s 2008 report – For your information: Australian Privacy Law and Practice. In the May seminar we will look at some of the proposed changes to Commonwealth privacy laws and also consider the state of play on two other major reform proposals : a statutory cause of action for breach of privacy and mandatory data breach notification laws.
