Patrick is an experienced and seasoned civil litigator. His current practice is primarily centred on litigated and non-litigated personal injury and negligence claims concerning historical institutional abuse.

He advises and represents a range of government departments and statutory authorities.

Prior to joining the VGSO, Patrick was a Senior Associate at Maurice Blackburn where he chiefly practiced in common law claims and statutory benefits disputes arising under the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013. While at Maurice Blackburn, he was seconded to the Australian Workers' Union, where he provided advice on industrial and employment matters.

He has had carriage of litigated matters in the Supreme Court, County Court and the Magistrates' Court. Patrick has also represented interested parties in Coronial Inquests.
