Current practice

Tessa's practice includes both litigation and advisory work in constitutional and administrative law.  She also advises government clients on novel and complex questions of statutory interpretation.

Tessa is joint Chair of the VGSO's Constitutional and Intergovernmental Relations Practice Group. 



Prior to joining the VGSO in 2017, Tessa worked at large international law firms in London, Tokyo and Melbourne.  She gained valuable experience working on large-scale and complex contentious regulatory matters, and on advising in relation international business obligations, including in relation to anti-bribery and human rights risk and compliance.  She has diverse litigation and dispute resolution experience in state administrative tribunals and the Australian federal courts, acting for both government and commercial clients.

Tessa was a Research Assistant at the Gilbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law before commencing legal practice in 2010.
