Current practice

Elizabeth's practice focuses on property and commercial advice and transactions. Elizabeth assists clients with a range of matters including statutory interpretation issues, drafting and negotiating agreements including funding and service delivery agreements, contracts of sale, leases and licences, she also advises on contractual issues and disputes.


Elizabeth practices in Crown land and general property law.  Her daily work involves drafting and negotiating contracts of sale, leases, licences and other property related transactional documents affecting the use and development of land as well as assisting clients to negotiate and resolve property related commercial disputes. Elizabeth has provided legal advice and drafted transaction documents on a wide range of projects for the State including education facilities, hospital, road and rail infrastructure and greenfields commercial/industrial developments. Elizabeth is experienced in adverse possession matters and has advised clients on their revenue obligations under tax and duty related legislation.
She has also provided advice on funding agreements for delivery of public projects.
Elizabeth's work at the VGSO has included a range of Administrative Law matters including assisting clients to determine the scope of their powers and duties in relation to acquisition, use, maintenance and disposition of land for road related purposes and other projects.  
Before joining the VGSO in 2011, Elizabeth worked as an administrator in State government and the tertiary education sector.  Elizabeth has also worked as a Legal Volunteer with the Fitzroy Legal Service Richmond outreach program.
