Current practice

Alex acts for and advises clients in matters of administrative and public law. His practice includes both litigation and advisory work with an emphasis on issues arising under the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006.


Alex joined VGSO in 2017, having previously practiced at an international commercial law firm in Melbourne and Sydney. Prior to joining VGSO, his practice was in large-scale commercial litigation in the Supreme and Federal Courts as well as advising corporate clients on compliance with regulatory and corporate criminal law obligations. Alex has experience conducting sensitive matters for highly visible clients. Before practising he was an associate to the Honourable Justice A M Vanstone in the Supreme Court of South Australia. 
Alex holds a Bachelor of laws from the University of Adelaide and Master of Law from the University of Cambridge, each with First Class Honours. He has previously taught at the University of Adelaide, including tutoring undergraduate administrative law.
