Debby's practice focuses on civil claims involving the State of Victoria (State), including state care personal injury claims (litigated and non-litigated) and applications and reviews under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997 (CMI Act) and Serious Offenders Act 2018 (SO Act). She has experience conducting civil litigation in the Supreme and County Courts and in alternative dispute resolution processes. Debby's clients include the Attorney-General, Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria Police and the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority.
Debby joined the VGSO as a paralegal in December 2020 where she assisted in the conduct of civil claims involving the State and supervision orders under the CMI Act and SO Act. Prior to joining the VGSO, Debby was a paralegal at the Australian Human Rights Commission where she gained experience in discrimination and international human rights law.
