Alison is Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor, Public Law & Planning.  In that role Alison leads a group of about 25 lawyers responsible for providing a wide range of legal services to Government clients about matters including:

Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor

Julie leads the Commercial, Property and Technology branch at the VGSO. Julie's team comprises over 30 lawyers and support staff dedicated to assisting the Victorian Government and its agencies in their activities.

Julie has particular expertise in government project work including significant outsourcing and procurement matters, contractual drafting and negotiation, statutory interpretation and assisting the Victorian Government and national government entities in policy development and legislative reform processes.

Julie has worked for government entities in a wide range of sectors including transport, emergency services, gambling, racing, corrections, energy, resources, water and health.

Julie joined the VGSO in 2013 after spending nearly 20 years at a leading private law firm.  Julie's recent work includes advising on gambling licensing processes, on integrity issues in the racing sector, on the arrangements for the long-term leasing of the Port of Melbourne and advising on various projects in the emergency management, corrections and transport sectors.

Carol joined the VGSO in 2018, where she leads the Police Advisory Branch. The Police Advisory Branch is comprised of 26 lawyers and support staff dedicated exclusively to advising Victoria Police on a broad range of legal issues, including claims of public interest immunity, administrative law, statutory interpretation, police powers and criminal law and procedure.  

Carol is currently leading a team of solicitors and barristers representing the Chief Commissioner of Police in the Court of Appeal where convictions are being challenged as a result of the use of Nicola Gobbo as a police informer.
