We advise the Victorian Government on the scope of its powers and its relationships with Victorian courts, the Commonwealth, and other states and territories. Limits of power of the Commonwealth are an important aspect.

Managing Principal Solicitor Alison O’Brien led a team of VGSO solicitors on behalf of the State of Victoria on the WorkChoices case in the High Court, the largest High Court case in the last twenty years. The team liaised between clients, barristers, court staff, parties from all states and territories, unions and the Commonwealth.
