​​Current Practice

Bea leads a team of lawyers providing advice across a broad range of commercial, technology and intellectual property matters.  The team comprises of passionate technology lawyers who have a genuine interest in their subject matter and enjoy problem solving to deliver practical solutions to complex problems. 
Bea's practice includes the development and negotiation of project specific IT contracts, transactional documents relating to the procurement, development and licensing of hardware, software and IT services, as well as other IT and telecommunication contracts.  
Bea also advises on every stage of the procurement process, including drafting and reviewing tender documents, evaluating tender responses and negotiating contracts in the context of routine procurements and large-scale IT and telecommunications projects.  
A significant component of Bea's practice  includes providing advice on the operation of the State eServices Register Contract, and she has given extensive advice and direction in the management and resolution of disputes emanating from that contract.
Equally, Bea advises on various aspects of the State's telecommunications contracts, which facilitate the provision of emergency and correctional services.
Bea's practice also covers the identification, protection and commercialisation of intellectual property.


Bea is an experienced technology lawyer who has worked for private sector firms and in-house in the technology transfer sector.  She has also acted for private organisations and government entities in a range of matters involving complex systems and arrangements involving multiple stakeholders.  Further, at VGSO, Bea has had the conduct of a number of IT and intellectual property disputes and works with clients to navigate the dispute process as a Model Litigant. 
Otherwise, Bea also has significant experience in the technology sector, having commercialised Artificial Intelligence image recognition software; laser technologies, unmanned aerial vehicle technologies, as well as biotech and agribusiness technologies. 
Bea has an interest in privacy and data security, Artificial Intelligence, as well as emerging materials technologies. 
Bea holds a Bachelor of Business Management and a Bachelor of Laws, and she also holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne.
